Standard Floor
Each booth comes with standard flat black Neoflex rubber flooring.
Exhibitors wishing to use custom flooring must contact Logistics Management to assist in the coordination of the installation. This includes an exhibitor’s own wall-to-wall carpeting, added flooring, and unique floors.
Load-bearing capacity of the floors is 100 lbs per square foot. For installation pieces that will exceed this, please contact Logistics Management. Deadline for flooring reinforcement is October 14th.
Exhibitors will be liable for damages to the subfloor and/or Neoflex. Please note, heavy machinery cannot travel inside the tent and proper floor protection should be taken to protect the floor during setup and dismantling.
Booth Walls
Color: DM White (Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace oc-65 Flat)
Height: 11’-6” or 3.5 m
Width: Standard width is 4ft (122cm). Walls can also be made any custom size as a special request.
Thickness: Walls are 4.5” (11.5cm)
Material: Wood framing (studs) sheeted with drywall (gypsum) finish
Load-bearing capacity of walls: Consult an art handler familiar with your installation needs. Walls can support fasteners for 0.5 inch drywall. Anything beyond that will require reinforcing. Please speak with Logistics Management regarding the installation of any heavy
objects.
Special installations: For installation of pieces exceeding load-bearing capacity, wall reinforcement, or special rigging, contact Logistics Management. Drawings with dimensions and images will be necessary.
Custom wall sizes: Prices available upon request.
Custom paint colors: Available upon request. Sherwin Williams is the preferred paint supplier for the fair. Please provide a color code or sample color to Logistics Management with the desired finish (matte/flat, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss, gloss). If specifying a paint other than Sherwin Williams, please provide an RAL color selection code. Please note, we cannot guarantee exact color matches for Pantone color references. Custom paint can be shipped to the tent only if Logistics Management has confirmed the quantity needed for adequate coverage and touch-ups. Specialty paints, such as Regal Select and Farrow and Ball, will incur a material surcharge.
Attachment regulations: Exhibitors wishing to hang items such as fabric or wallpaper on the walls must contact Logistics Management to coordinate the installation. Physical samples along with necessary fire certificates will be required.
Booth Lighting
Standard fixtures can be ordered at an additional cost to exhibitor.
The standard fixture included is a par 38 narrow flood, dimmable LED, 120W equivalent, 2700 kelvin.
The fixtures are mounted on the overhead truss at a height of 11’-6” (3.5 m) from the floor.
All lighting requests must indicate the direction of the light by drawing an arrow on the booth sketch.
If the exhibitor wishes to have special lighting, please contact Logistics Management.
Personal lighting systems may be used with permission from Logistics Management. Any use of the main lighting system without approval will be charged to the exhibitor at minimum $1,000 or based upon the labor and material costs involved in the repair in case of damages. In case of faulty connections, Design Miami/ reserves the right to block the connections. All special lighting requests must be submitted by October 14th. Prices are available upon request.
Standard fixtures are installed and adjusted by on-site technicians according to the exhibitor’s specifications on their booth sketch. The participation package includes a one-time focusing of preinstalled lights owned by Design Miami. This focusing process is meant as a minimal and quick adjustment (titling up, down, left, or right) of each light. The maximum duration of this one-time focusing is no more than 30 minutes for up to 20 lights and 60 minutes for up to 40 lights per booth. Additional adjustments as requested by the exhibitor on-site will be charged at the applicable rate of $125 per 1⁄2 hour.
The relocation of lights beyond the one-time focusing is not included in the light-focusing procedure and can only be executed at additional costs. For safety reasons, only on-site technicians may install, move, or adjust electrical connections and lights. Any damages and failures to the electrical system as a result of not complying with these protocols will be charged to the exhibitor.
Truss
Truss can be ordered upon request by drawing the additional sections needed in the booth sketch. Logistic Management will verify feasibility and possible options. Note that the truss is resting on top of the walls and may need additional ground support. Please note, truss cannot be added past the deadline of October 14th.
All rigging needs to be approved by Logistics Management prior to load-in. Gallerists may only rig to the truss with approved hardware that will minimize dents/scratches to the equipment and not compromise the structural integrity.
Any damages resulting from improper use of the truss will be invoiced to the exhibitor.
Electrical Connections
Electrical outlets do NOT come standard with each booth.
Deadline to order electricity for your booth is October 14th. We cannot guarantee that we are able to accommodate any additions or modifications to your electrical plan after this date.
If you require an electrical connection (power strips, extension cords, etc.) please order this by indicating the exact location of the connection in the booth plan with at least two dimensions. Advise Logistics Management of wattages that may exceed 1,000 watts. If in doubt, please ask.
Electricity is 110 Volts, 60 Hz. A limited number of 1,000 watt step up transformers are available for rental. Transformers not returned to management will be charged to the exhibitor.
Bring electrical adaptors if you need them. The United States uses NEMA 5-15P outlets.
Logistics Management must be contacted to shut off power at the circuit breaker. Design Miami is not responsible for the daily on/off switching of electrical needs.
Electricity consumption is included in the price of the outlet. Please advise the Logistics Management if power is needed to run 24 hours.
Two different electrical outlets are possible:
Electrical outlet on the wall including at the baseboard (e.g., sconces, TVs). Please note, an electrician may be needed to wire fixtures at load-in. Please indicate the height on each booth sketch or given as a separate detail drawing. Typically, these cables can be concealed if noted in advance. Please contact Logistics Management for further information.
